Franciscan Study Center

The Franciscan Study Center was founded in 1985 by the three Franciscan orders in the Netherlands: Franciscans, Conventuals, and Capuchins. As part of the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology the Study Center conducts interdisciplinary research into the intellectual and spiritual tradition of Francis (†1226) and Clare (†1253) of Assisi. It does so in close collaboration with other disciplines and in relation to contemporary society, particularly broad prosperity. The Study Center also maintains close contacts with other Franciscan study centers, such as the Fachstelle Franziskanische Forschung in Münster and the Franciscan Institute at Saint Bonaventure University, New York.
